Apparently "Biggs" refers to his head. I headswapped the new X-Wing Biggs with Jedi Luke, and apparently the scales are slightly different. Big-head Biggs is only shown in his dress uniform in a holo, several years after he death. Despite his being a holo, a transparent figure wasn't going to happen, so I'll assume he donned the dress uniform at some point before he died.
